So I am watching MTV Cribs(which will be a separate topic) and I see a commercial for a new show called Bromance. First off, as I type this, my word processor doesn’t recognize bromance as a word. This should be the first sign that this show is going to suck. Secondly, it stars a guy named Brody Jenner who I have never heard of. So I did some research, and I realized why I had never heard of him. He had a 2 episode series called The Princes of Malibu, and apparently is a big character in the show The Hills. Neither of which I watch, because I have taste. This new show Bromance looks like it will be added to my list of shows that are making America dumber. For those that don’t know, Bromance, by definition, is the complicated love and affection shared by two straight males. I have a huge problem with this because I have always thought love and affection between two straight men was called friendship. Then again, when dealing with people like this, they probably don’t know what friendship is.
On to the show. The plot is about as deep as the people starring in it. Brody has apparently lost a bro in his crew and needs to fill the space. So he does what every normal person does, has MTV fly in strangers to have competitions and interviews to see who makes the cut. Heaven forbid you do what the rest of us do, you know, go out in public and use our personality to meet people of similar interests. This show, like many others, should not even be put on TV. This so called “Reality Television” has got to stop. There is nothing real about it. It is all scripted scenarios trying to make a plot, and add suspense. The way I see it is the TV Stations are basically saying, “You’re a dumb piece of human excrement, and here is your entertainment you idiot”. Which I find insulting. To make matters worse, it’s not on ABC, or NBC, or Lifetime. It is on MTV. What the hell happened to this channel? MTV, for you youngsters, stands for Music Television. It used to be music videos, or music news ALL DAY. Now you are lucky if you can find a 30min block of music videos. Not that I really care, because a lot of the bands now a days suck. They need to change the name of this station to This Sucks Television.(TSTV) They started MTV2 as a source for music videos, but then ended up writing so many crappy shows, they had to take over this station as well. (I will say that I actually did like the show Rob and Big. Even though it was scripted.) The only good and REAL reality show was the first 3 seasons of the real world. They were real people, stuck in a house together, and they just let the camera’s role. That was real interactions. Not this crap now where they make sure they fill every race and sexual preference, while adding some kind of wacky or dramatic scenario. So this new show where they find strangers to compete to be this douche bag’s friend is sure to be a winner. Judging by the cast I have seen in the preview, I am not surprised they have to win friendship. I know I am not the coolest guy on the planet, but what a bunch of retards. My favorite part of the commercial is when some of the guys didn’t even know what Bromance is. I can also watch the commercial, and tell you the first 4 guys to be eliminated. It’s funny how in a group of morons, you can still pick out the weakest guys.
Well I could go on and on about this show, and many of the other horrible one’s just like it, I.E… A shot at love with Tile Tequila. (woo look at me, I’m kinda hot, and have 2 million fake friends on myspace, I’m a celebrity) A double shot at love, with 2 twins who have the intelligence level of the crud I scraped out from under my big toe, Making the Band, Puff Daddy sucks. There I said it. The Hills and Laguna Beach. , words cannot describe my feeling for these shows. There are several more, but I am too tired to write more.
So Brody, I wish you luck in finding a “new bud” for your crew. I am sure he will be as worthless to society as you and the rest of your friends are.
